Steering Group
What is the Steering Group?
Following the revealing of the masterplan for the long-term regeneration of Druids Heath in May 2024 it is vital that residents and local stakeholders are actively engaged and have their voices heard on how the regeneration is taken forward. This is a core commitment that has been made in the Council’s Resident Charter.
The Resident Steering Group is one of the ways in which the Council’s commitment to engaging with residents and the local community will be taken forward. The intention is that the Steering Group will be a long-term commitment and be in place as the regeneration progresses over several years. Engagement with the Steering Group will be complemented by other engagement opportunities such as workshops, community events, surveys, drop-ins as well as providing information on the doorstep, by letter, email and through social media.
What’s the role of the Steering Group?
The Steering Group will meet every two months and will have several roles:
- Contribute on the detailed planning, procurement, phasing, and transition of the estate.
- Help take forward what’s described as the ‘meanwhile’ offer delivering improvements such as estate safety, cleanliness, and other local services.
- Being steering in other specific resident and community engagement events and initiatives.
- Represent and advocate for residents, community groups and local businesses.
- Keeping up to date with the regeneration programme with opportunities for training.
Who will run and facilitate meetings?
The Council have commissioned resident engagement specialists, Loconomy to recruit, train and convene the meetings of the Steering Group.
